Meet the Chargers Third Overall Pick: Joey Bosa

There will be more Buckeyes picked in the second round and these are the players that have the best chances.

Some were obvious, such as the love given Ohio State, and the disdain for 2015 bowl teams Tennessee, Duke and North Carolina.

Bosa was selected No. 3 overall by the San Diego Chargers, then looked on as Elliott went fourth to the Dallas Cowboys. They tied a school record with five picks in the first round and also tied a Penn State record with three picks in the top-10, something that Zeke said is expected from The Ohio State University, per Eleven Warriors’ Eric Seger.

Five Buckeyes went on Thursday night and two more went to the Saints in the second round. Bosa announced the pick to a crowd in San Diego as the NFL Network filmed him. “I’m not even sure what he ran, but he is fast enough to get to the quarterback and disrupt the game”.

The roll call of Ohio State stars began early and somewhat surprisingly, with defensive end Joey Bosa going at No. 3 to the San Diego Chargers, who had been thought to be choosing between other players.

The Chargers took the 6-foot-4, 254-pound, Galena, Ohio, product with the 102nd pick in this year’s draft to address a need at linebacker after allowing 362 yards per game.

What’s more remarkable about the number of Ohio State players being taken is that there are more to come. “Me and Zeke and (linebacker) Darron Lee would always laugh about first-rounders, ‘Hey, we’re going to be first-rounders one day.’ Here we are”.

Former OSU linebacker Joshua Perry (37) celebrates after defeating Virginia Tech on September 7 in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Apple, from Voorhees, N.J., and Eastern High School, is the second Ohio State cornerback in the last three years to go in the first round of the draft, after Bradley Roby was chosen by Denver in the first round in 2013. “I think I’m a likable guy”.

Joey Bosa said his father has “just really been there every step of the way for me, making sure I keep my head on straight, knowing what’s important, and that’s football”.

Finding a franchise quarterback has become paramount for National Football League clubs, so much so that the Rams and Eagles mortgaged much of their draft stock to get to the top of this grab bag.
