Meg Whitman ditches Republicans in effort to derail Trump

Top Republican donor and fundraiser Meg Whitman has endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton for president, saying she can not support a candidate who has “exploited anger, grievance, xenophobia and racial division”.

Consider this: 18 states plus the District of Columbia have voted for the Democratic presidential nominee in each of the six elections between 1992 and 2012.

Trump’s week has been dominated by his criticism of Muslim parents whose son was killed in the Iraq War and his refusal to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan and Sen. “He’s driving us insane, ‘” said Trump on Friday during a rally in Colorado Springs where he spoke to about 1,500 supporters.

“I’m going to vote for Trump”, said a man identifying himself as Don of Menominee, Michigan, without hesitation.

“I don’t like doing this”, Ryan told a Wisconsin radio station. “I don’t want to do this, but I will do this because I feel I have to in order to defend Republicans, and our principles, so that people don’t make the mistake of thinking we think like that”.

Trump’s $80 million includes approximately $64 million raised through digital and direct mail operations, the campaign says.

A spokeswoman for Donald Trump has blamed Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the 2004 killing of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan in Iraq – even though the death occurred more than four years before Obama became president.

As for Trump, DeNicola says, “when he’s talking about women bleeding and when he’s talking about special needs people, that just doesn’t fly”.

“I say, ‘Mike, you like him? Yes. Go ahead and do it, 100 percent, ‘” Trump recalled of his conversation the day before, interrupting his audience when they began to boo Ryan.

The numbers mark a significant upswing since May, when Trump was badly outraised by Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

“It’s so sad, so disgusting”, Trump said of the payment as he campaigned in Maine.

As Trump used the issue to assail Clinton, he faced new questions about his description Wednesday, and again on Thursday, of video he suggested was taken by Iranian forces removing bags of money from a plane.

It’s unclear what footage Trump was referring to.

Indeed, Clinton’s boost in the polls and net favorability may be less noteworthy than Trump’s coinciding week-long dive. This time, she doesn’t plan to vote for either Clinton or Trump.

“Everything he’s made he’s made somewhere else”, Clinton said as she toured a Las Vegas electric manufacturer Thursday afternoon. I urge all Republicans to reject Donald Trump this November.

What that caution reflects is a belief – never stated publicly – among Clinton and her senior aides that if she does the basic blocking and tackling in swing states, makes no major mistakes and just keeps letting Trump talk, she wins.
