Dentsu Entertainment USA (Monsuno, LBX) presented the first visual tied to the new animated television series of the Mega Man (Rockman) games on Thursday.
Dentsu Ent. USA and DHX will manage all global rights. Distribution and licensing in the United States will be handled by DHX in collaboration with Dentsu Entertainment USA.
The show stars Aki Light, an alter-ego of Mega Man who is described as “a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot”.
As you can see, it’s Mega Man as you know and love him-the blue armor, helmet, and cannon. Characters such as Rush will feature and there will new additions including Megaman Mini.
Mega Man, slated to premiere in early 2017, marks the video game icon’s third official series to date. Man of Action will executive produce the all-new Mega Man.
“The best thing about Mega Man is his unflinching wide-eyed optimism and an over-the-top sense of humor”, Duncan Rouleau, one of the creators of the show, said.
The above Mega Man is how the character will apparently appear on the show (Capcom also posted it on its Unity Blog).
The Mega Man games franchise started out in the 1980s, runs to over 50 titles, and has spawned several TV offerings including Mega Man and MegaMan NT Warrior. “We’ve got it all in there, it’s hopeful, forward-leaning, action-packed.it’s full on fun ahead”.
