Mega Man Maker Launches Kickstarter Campaigns for Game, Movie
Red Ash is the spiritual successor of Mega Man Legends, the popular 3D, open-world spin-off of Mega Man. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune launched a Kickstarter page to seek funding for the project.

Original story 03.07.15: About five years ago, Capcom was working on Mega Man Legends 3, the latest instalment in the its series of Mega Man spin-offs. The last we heard of it, a 3rd one was in development for the 3DS, but was cancelled.
Additionally, there is a second Red Ash Kickstarter, which aims to produce an animated series to accompany the game. Kazushi Ito and Masahiro Yasuma, who worked on Legends, will serve as Art Director and Game Director, respectively, with the game being developed by Inafune’s studio Comcept.
Red Ash – The Indellible Legend has already gathered more than $217,000 out of the $800,000 goal, with more than 2,500 people backing the game.
Animation team Studio 4°C is also seeking funding for a Red Ash anime on Kickstarter.
The game itself will be a third-person shooter, action-adventure game with RPG elements.
The development of Red Ash will also be involving the backers of the title, as an exclusive forum will be set up for backers which will contain discussions, surveys and updates. The project actually begins with a prologue chapter called “The KalKanon Incident“, which will be the foundation to build more content in the future.

The accompanying anime project by Studio 4℃ called Red Ash: Magicicada will lead the same heroes through an intertwining journey, but the creators of the projects are free to write their own stories, as stated by Engadget. Intrigued by the mysterious code, Beck and his best friend Deny continue to dig caves in search of hidden treasure. Had they waited until after the first Kickstarted game had launched I’d feel a great deal more confident. Should the campaign raise enough funds to hit its stretch goals, Comcept plans to make Tyger a playable character, and add special challenge dungeons and a village reconstruction system. Still, it’ll be a while before the projects will be released – Comcept has a July 2017 release date planned if all goes well.
