The odds of picking the correct numbers on five white balls and one yellow ball in the Mega Millions game are one in 259 million.
The Mega Millions prize is already at an estimated $454 million and climbing, ahead of Tuesday night’s drawing.
Interest is heating up for the $454 million Mega Millions jackpot draw tonight.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It marks the 34th time the jackpot has rolled over without a victor. Hopefully, it would have better odds than the Powerball game, which had been the longest lottery that has rolled on without a victor so far.
The Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday night on WNEP-TV right before Newswatch 16 at 11. The previous record was 22 rollovers.
The last major payout was May 7, when a New Jersey family claimed a $429.6 million Powerball prize – the eighth-largest lottery prize ever.
He said anytime the jackpot gets high, sales start to climb.
The prize increased slightly Tuesday from $449 million previously.

On social media on Tuesday, ticket holders fantasized about their plans if they won the prize, including plans to buy expensive clothing and even sports teams. You can alternatively take home about $313 million if you choose to get your winnings in one lump sum payment. Tickets are sold until 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights, Tuesdays and Fridays.
