Midfielder Rapinoe has capped her World Cup-winning summer by officially announcing her engagement to her longtime lover, singer-songwriter Cahoone, on Instagram.
The couple have been together for a few years and have shared numerous photos of the two of them on their Instagrams.
There was an immediate and widespread show of support from fans, friends, and teammates alike.
Since then, the 30-year-old has become so comfortable in her own skin that when asked to sum herself up in one word on SportsCenter last month, she enthusiastically chose the word, “GAAAAY”. Meanwhile, ESPN Women confirms that it was Thursday night the post on Rapinoe and Cahoone’s engagement went out, throwing in their congrats to the happy couple on their plans to tie the knot.
