The singer, who just took home a Grammy for best new artist, tells CBS Sunday Morning that she used to hide behind bulky clothing.

The 22-year-old singer would even cover up in thick sweatshirts in sweltering heat because she hated the thought of people seeing her body, in particular her arms.
“The inspiration: “When Trainor told LA Reid her followup to Title was ready to go, the Epic Records CEO replied that it actually wasn’t, because Trainor “[didn’t] have a single”. “I told my producer we needed a big eff-you song, an anthem about girl power that sounded like nothing on the album”, she says.
Thinking back on that time of her life, she commented, “I see pictures of my face and…I’m sad, and I’m in a sweatshirt and I’m in my room producing because I just turned off the idea of, ‘You’ll be the face'”.
“I had three songs I really felt like could be the first single”.
What do you think of Meghan’s new single “No”? “We’ve got to do more of these songs”.
Trainor recently tweeted lyrics from the new tune echoing her own confidence: “I’m feelin untouchable…untouchable”, she wrote. – I’m not going to give you another one of those. Trainor said the later sessions yielded what will be the album’s next singles. Trainor says there aren’t many features on her new album, though one very special special person makes a cameo on the deluxe version: Her mother, on the aptly-titled track, “Mom”. The first track to be released is No, and like All About That Bass, the song delivers another powerful message.

On Trainor’s next album, she says she’s broadening her pop sound. “There’s no way. Alright, I’ll go right now to Ricky’s studio and I’ll write it right now and you’re gonna love it”. “I just knew they would be worldwide smashes – and they were doo-wopy”, Trainor explained. “It was kind of the anger I had from that meeting, you can hear”.
