Megyn Kelly’s first interview with Donald Trump, tonight on Fox

“Donald Trump is a lot of things”, Kelly said. Reporter: Helping trump, his wife Melania defending him in “Du jour” magazine saying he is not had hitler, he wants to help America, bring people together and bring jobs back. Until Tuesday night, when the two sat down for an interview.

“In April there was a lull in the tweet storm, and I seized on the opportunity” to reach out to him, Kelly said.

The conflict has launched Kelly into primetime, and with the spotlight on her now more than ever, everything she does is open to scrutiny, from her interview style to her new haircut.

Host Andy Cohen got Kelly to take part in “Plead the Fifth”, his game where he asks the guests three tough questions and they can only avoid (i.e. plead the fifth) one of them.

“You got to get over it”, Trump told Kelly. It’s the first question that I’ve ever been asked during a debate and I’ve never debated before. “I mean, it really is”. “In just about all cases I’ve been responding to what they’ve done to me”. “When I am wounded, I go after people hard, okay?”

“Let’s talk about us”, Kelly began the interview before asking Trump about their fiery debate exchange, which sparked months of Trump attacking her for everything from her journalistic integrity to implying she was on her period during the debate. “I’ve been saying this whole campaign that I’m a counter-puncher”. “If I would not have fought back the way I fought back, I would not have been successful”. “In a way it’s a bad word, because there’s nothing wrong with being presidential”.

“In a certain way, I don’t even think that’s healthy”.

Trump replied the next day that Kelly had “blood coming out of her wherever”.

“If I don’t go all the way and if I don’t win, I will consider it to be a total and complete waste of time, energy and money”, Trump said. And, most harrowing of all, she admitted that she once touched Donald Trump’s hair.
