Meizu M3E smartphone launches in China for $195

While its counterparts Xiaomi and Huawei are actively gathering more consumers in their respective circles with their highly advanced yet affordable devices, leading Guangdong-based Chinese tech firm Meizu is quietly yet surely joining the elite ranks of the former as it launches its first smartphone under the E series, Meizu M3E. Interestingly, it is heavier at 172 grams despite the battery being downgraded to 3100 mAh. M3E is powered by Mali-T860 GPU. Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset with 3GB of LPDDR3 memory. The camera is ably complemented with Sony IMX258 sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.

The smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera with an aprture of f/2.2 and 5MP front camera. On the front you get a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 4P lens. Since the device runs on YunOS, we don’t expect it to be launched outside of China.

This handset comes with an audio jack of 3.5 mm.

The Meizu M3E looks hauntingly familiar to the M3 Note, not only in design and aesthetics but also in specs. Global Positioning System and microUSB v2.0. In less than 24 hours since its launch, the Meizu m3e has received more than 3 million registrations in China.

The new Meizu M3E comes in five color options: Rose Gold, Gold, Gray, Silver, and Blue. The technology can also automatically regulate the charging state according to body temperature, battery voltage, usage scenario and other data to support fast charging.

The Meizu m3e starts at CNY 1,299 ($196 or €175 at the current exchange rates). In India, the price of the device is Rs. 13,045. Right now there is no word on the availability of the smartphone outside China.The company has priced the smartphone at 1299 yuan which is approximately Rs 13,000. Stay tuned for more updates.
