India is poised to overtake the US as the second largest smartphone market in the next few years, as per IDC, which recently said shipments to India grew 44% to 26.5 million units in the quarter to June.
The Meizu MX 5 has a 5.5 inch HD display and it runs on Flyme OS 4.5 developed on the Android Lollipop operating system. The Meizu MX5 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it. The device is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795T) 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz which ships with a PowerVR G6200 GPU for graphics. With a fingerprint scanner on-board the device as well as a 20.7MP-powered rear camera (with 4K video support), it seems that Meizu has tried hitting right notes on the whole. The smartphone supports 4G LTE and has dual-SIM card slots with dual-standby network technology. The telephone has a finger-print sensor embedded with its Home button. It comes with WiFi 802.11ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and sensors such as the gyro, accelerometer, proximity sensor. Now, the site confirms that the MX5 will indeed be unveiled in the upcoming Meizu Brand Launch.
Another plus point with the camera is the presence of the Laser AF section for quicker focussing. “If everything goes according to our plan, we would be able to commence manufacturing in India in the next six months”.
The Meizu M2 Note is packed with a 3,100 mAh battery. This is a decent battery spec for a flagship phone.
Li Nan, vice-president, marketing, at Meizu Technology, said the company is discussing the possibility of manufacturing in India and hopes to enter into a formal agreement soon.
