Mel and Sue quit as hosts of Bake Off

Were not going with the dough.

Her comments came after a spokesperson said earlier this week: “We have no plans to change the incredibly successful format of the show”.

The GBBO news just keeps getting more and more dramatic.

“Paul is now in L.A. and hasn’t had a chance to talk to Mary”. Can someone start a petition?

“Even though they weren’t contractually obliged to stay with the production, they were assured the show would retain its stars”.

Wednesday night’s show saw 37-year-old nurse Kate Barmby ejected from the tent in batter week.

Jay Hunt, Channel 4’s chief creative officer, sought to allay worries that the baking competition will flounder when it leaves the BBC without its popular presenters.

“They feel lucky they have got Mel and Sue there to control and calm the bakers”.

“It saddens me greatly, you know, and I’m speaking personally obviously, I think it’s really sad”. Any one who thinks that Bake Off is actually about the baking is sorely wrong.

It’s the end of an era for Bake Off fans.

Channel 4 secured Bake Off with a £75m three-year deal, four-times the amount which the BBC now paid for the show. Channel 4 will air their first edition of the program in 2017 which is planned to be a celebrity edition for the charity Stand Up to Cancer.

The BBC says it has lost the rights to “The Great British Bake Off”, which it has broadcast since 2010. It’s high quality. Diverse.

But what could this mean for our favourite judges and presenters?

The future look of The Great British Bake Off hangs in the balance as judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood have yet to confirm they will be joining the show when it moves to Channel 4.

“The BBC’s resources are not infinite”.

An official statement from the BBC said: Working with Love Productions, we have grown and nurtured the programme over seven series and created the huge hit it is today.

Mary Berry has also spoken out about the move, telling the Express.co.uk: “I have no idea, anything that happens is nothing to do with my choice”.
