Melanie Liburd Joins ‘Game of Thrones’ as The Red Priestess

The Spain location is where Game of Thrones shoots scenes set in Meereen, so it seems safe to assume this Red Priestess will be stirring things up with her faith in a few way or another that will affect Dany, Tyrion and the gang.

If you remember during season 5 when Tyrion and Varys first arrive in Volantis, they witness a red priestess giving a sermon to her faithful before she looks directly at the dwarf, who is sitting on a staircase up above her. She was killed off at the end of season 4 when she betrayed Tyrion during his trial and ended up in bed with his father Tywin.

Meanwhile, Vine Report revealed that Melanie Liburd was casted for a role that fits the description: “emaciated street woman in her thirties, a painfully thin woman living in extreme poverty with a starving baby”.

According to Deadline, stunning British actress Melanie Liburd (The Grinder, Strike Back, Dracula, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) has joined season 6 of HBO’s Game Of Thrones as a character known only as The Red Priestess.

Fans have been hotly debating on the massive cliffhanger after the finale of “Game of Thrones” Season 5. The show is expected to premiere in 2016 with no specific date yet.

She was also posted another picture from the area that appeared to be a Game of Thrones gathering, although there were no recognisable cast members in the photo.
