MSNBC would like me to appear for four inconsequential hours to read news that they deem relevant without returning to our team any of the editorial control and authority that makes MHP Show distinctive.
And then the pièce de résistance: She put up a GIF of Angela Bassett’s epic scene in Waiting to Exhale when she’s walking away from her ex-husband’s auto, which she just lit on fire (with all of his expensive clothes and shoes in it).
According to CNNMoney, Harris-Perry’s negotiations with MSNBC fell through as a result of her refusal to sign a non-disparagement agreement. Follow Lectures to Beats on Facebook and Twitter.
“Here is the reality: Our show was taken – without comment or discussion or notice – in the midst of an election season”, Harris-Perry wrote in the email, which became public on Friday.
Harris-Perry has since added “have been known to be challenging and unpredictable” to her Twitter biography.
“They wanted us to cover politics in the narrowest sense”, Harris-Perry said. I love our show. “I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head”, said Harris-Perry, who is black. Those that already had time slots on weekends – like Melissa Harris-Perry – found themselves constantly pre-empted for election coverage that they weren’t invited to take part in.
-When a guest said Rep. Paul Ryan was a “hard worker”, Perry screamed racism and said that term was inappropriate to use because it reminded her of slavery.

The Washington Post reported that MSNBC President Phil Griffin said MSNBC is continuing to lead in diversity. They have canceled a planned weekend show for Alex Wagner, who is Burmese-American, and are shifting around the schedules of other shows that feature non-white hosts.
