Memorial: Matt Kuchar tied for the lead, Jason Day three back
Once I got to 16 I said, You know, if I can birdie the last three I might have a chance to close it out.

Matt Kuchar finished the third round of the Memorial with a share of the lead, just how he started Saturday.
The 2013 victor, though, dropped a shot on the 18th on his way to a round of 70 and joins fellow Americans Gary Woodland and William McGirt at the top of the leaderboard on 14 under.
They were at 14-under 202, and with the starting times moved up today because of a forecast for more storms, this was far from settled.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Billy Andrade broke the course record with a 9-under 63 for a share of the lead with Joe Durant and Todd Hamilton in the PGA Tour Champions’ Principal Charity Classic. All of them would like nothing better than to shake hands with tournament host Jack Nicklaus.
That includes the No. 1 player in the world.
The 28-year-old Lahiri, who finished tied sixth last week for his best finish in 2016, shot even par 72 with three birdies and three bogeys, including in last three holes, to be two-under 142 and right on the cut line here last night.
Rory McIlroy shot 66 to reach seven under and the Northern Irishman’s switch back to a conventional grip may be yielding benefits if his putt on the 10th hole is anything to go by.
The other member of the modern Big Three never recovered from his mistakes. He had a 74 and was 10 behind. He was at 15 under and on the 17th tee when he says an official told him to wait because the horn was getting ready to sound. He is 10 shots off the lead, and tied for 58th. He is tied for fourth with Emiliano Grillo, Adam Hadwin and Jon Curran. But Day, despite his ugly finish on Saturay, is just three shots back, and McIlroy is five out. We’ll deal with Streb’s round first, since he was the only one who was bogey-free. I feel like I played well. He has gone 164 starts on the PGA Tour, and he figures it’s about time.
McCarrons surge began with an eagle on the 5th hole that put him in position to challenge the leaders, and he pulled even with a birdie on the par-4 16th. McGirt dropped a shot on the tough par-3 16th, answered with a birdie and signed for a 64. I just feel like, with the places I put myself in the last few holes, not to maybe just pick up an extra shot was a little disappointing.
“I can’t believe it has already been six years last time I won this tournament”.
Day was also looking forward to a great weekend after relying on his deft touch around the green and scrambling abilities as he eked out a 71 that included five birdies and four bogeys.
Steele backed up a first-round 65 with a 5-under-par 67, while Kuchar shot another 66. Johnson is a powerful presence at any tournament. “It’s a little more fun when you’re playing well”.
“If I didn’t have a short game, I probably would have shot high 70s”, he said. I made two or three errors which were evidence of inexperience on this golf course and my putter remained unresponsive for the second consecutive day. “I think I played pretty good”.
