Family and friends are gathering in New Jersey to remember “The Voice” singer Christina Grimmie.

During the struggle, Loibl fatally shot himself, investigators said. “Her arms were open all the time. I love you Christina, you are the best”.

Orlando Police Department officials tell WKMG-TV that Grimmie was shot Friday night at The Plaza Live, where she was scheduled to perform.

The 22-year-old was shot to death last week as she signed autographs after a show in Orlando, Florida on June 10. She is not going to be hurting.

The singer’s death has sparked questions about the adequacy of security at concerts and post-performance meet-and-greets.

Her mother, who is battling cancer, said she wasn’t mad about the tragedy but admitted she isn’t strong.

Bud wrapped his arms around his grieving wife and said,”This crowd has blessed me beyond words”. I know I am going to see her again’. And thanks Mom and Dad.

The vigil included emotional speeches by friends and family, each of whom praised the singer for her love of her family, friends and faith, reported Billboard. “It’s just so much…”

Grimmie’s father, Bud, was next to pay tribute to his daughter.

Addressing the crowd on June 18, Bud said, “I want to share what I’ve shared with several people here and that’s there’s this very big hole in my heart that I know is never going to go away”, reports E!Online.

The 22-year-old singer, who appeared on the USA television talent show The Voice in 2014, was killed last week (10Jun16) when 27-year-old gunman Kevin James Loibl opened fire during a fan meet and greet following a concert in Orlando, Florida. “That’s why we loved her”.

In the video, Grimmie urges her fans to be true to themselves. “I was really mad, but when Christina went home to be with the Lord Jesus, I told him “I’m not mad”.

“Words can not begin to describe the pain I am feeling”, he said.

“All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business”.
