Memphis Depay hopes he, Anthony Martial can spur each other to success
Ruud van Nistelrooy has urged Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to field Anthony Martial as his No.9 rather than Wayne Rooney.

If he can keep £59m Angel Di Maria away from a starting berth on the wing, why can’t he do the same for £36m striker Martial? “Hopefully for United he can be the one“, the Netherlands assistant told reporters.
And Depay thinks it will help them two newcomers to the English game that they can learn together.
The Frenchman could get that too, with Wayne Rooney not travelling to Holland.
Manchester United will be up against Southampton in their next Premier League game at St. Mary’s on Sunday and will be eager to post three points on the board against Ronald Koeman’s men. Further the former Republic of Ireland defender has also added that the Dutchman should not be hailed as a tactical genius, just due to the fact that his side managed to pick up the win.
“There are still always chances there”.
The England star has been United’s No.9 in the opening weeks of the 2015-16 campaign, until injury forced him out of the games against Liverpool and PSV, yet Van Nistelrooy believes former Monaco youngster Martial is a better option up front. It was a very important date in our calendar and I’m very pleased that our fans went home feeling happy.
The Dutch manager said of Martial: “The impression is good, but I can only say … the same for him as for Memphis: you have to give them more time and that’s what I am asking”.
Van Gaal was in the frame for the PSV job in 2012 but the job went to Dick Advocaat.

It was later revealed by Van Gaal that his left-back faces at least six months out on the sidelines after being sent to hospital in Eindhoven. He has done this at four or five clubs.
