The man suspected of fatally shooting Memphis police officer Sean Bolton multiple times during a traffic stop Saturday night has reportedly turned himself in.
After a two-day manhunt for an ex-con accused of gunning down a Memphis Police officer, city officials cited a “material development” in the case and cancelled a news conference to announce an increased reward for his capture.
One thing Director Armstrong said keeps reading in my ears- he said there’s a theme, ‘Black Lives Matter, ‘ but he emphasized ‘All Lives Matter.’. “I asked what was that?” He’s a coward. You gun down, you murder a police officer for less than two grams of marijuana.
The officer had seen a auto that was illegally parked and pulled in front of it, illuminating the vehicle with his spotlight. As Bolton approached, a passenger got out and fought with Bolton, then shot him.
He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Friday night but later died from his injuries.
A manhunt is under way Sunday after a police officer was fatally shot during a traffic stop in Tennessee.
Bolton had been a member of the Memphis Police Department since 2010.
Wilbourn, who goes by the names Tremaine Martin and “T-Streetz”, is described by police as an African-American man who stands over 6-feet-2 and weighs 222 pounds.
Wilbourn was on parole after serving a 10-year sentence for bank robbery.
He was wanted on a first-degree murder warrant.
He reportedly shot and killed Officer Sean Bolton Saturday after the cop interrupted a drug deal involving a small amount of marijuana.
A civilian used Bolton’s radio to notify police about the shooting, Armstrong said.
Bolton’s family remembered him as a humble, devoted and caring man who spoke several languages, read voraciously, practiced martial arts, ran 5K races, played numerous sports and helped the people of Memphis in myriad ways – having returned there after his time in the Marines.
“Once again, we won’t make any political statements here, but this again is evidence that there are so many guns on our streets in the wrong hands”, Wharton said.

Phillip Price said he lives in Cottonwood Apartments, a complex located a few blocks from the shooting.
