Men charged over Uber driver assaults in Brisbane
Two of the victims were Uber drivers, and police suspected the third man was mistaken as one while he was sitting in his vehicle.

They are keeping the pressure on as they object to Uber X drivers operating at Louis Armstrong worldwide Airport and other parts of the Jefferson Parish without approval, or without having to follow the same rules that cabbies face.
The 49-year-old man’s auto was also damaged in the attack.
At 3.15am, another man was allegedly assaulted on River Terrace, Kangaroo Point, by a group of men who damaged his auto.
Police will allege that at 1.50am on October 5 a group of five men assaulted a man before grabbing his mobile phone as he sat in his vehicle on Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley.
“We’re asking you to have mercy and if Uber wants to come in let them be governed like we are, new cars, insurance, drug testing, everything that we have to do”, said Addy Washington, who has been driving cabs for nearly four decades.
Mr Patel said the group broke his auto mirrors while shouting ‘You are f***ing Uber.
‘There was a lot of blood.
‘The taxi lobby and its associates have long used fear, misinformation and intimidation in its campaign against ridesharing and it would be a very worrying turn of events if these alleged assaults happened as a result of this campaign, ‘ Uber said in a statement.
The ride-sharing company suggested there could be a link between the attacks and the “intimidation” campaign they say the Taxi Council Queensland have launched against the popular app.
A few of Bahrain’s local taxi drivers have threatened to go on a strike over the introduction of Uber service to the country.
