He also pops up in the post-Secret Wars Extraordinary X-Men run, where Mister Sinister kidnaps some X-Men.

That’s according to X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer, as director’s commentary on the home video release for that film elaborated further on the mid-credits tease of the immortal genetic madman.

The audio commentary for the digital release of X-Men: Apocalypse came out last Friday, and it confirms a rumor about Wolverine 3.

Mister Sinister doesn’t have a huge role in Old Man Logan, which is supposedly what the third Wolverine movie is based on.

For those of you who don’t remember the post-credit scene, there’s no need to fret. The man then tucked the vial away in his briefcase, allowing readers to see that the bag iswasembellished with an “Essex Corp” decal. Knowing that Sinister is involved makes us turn a questioning eye towards one new actor joining the X-Men franchise with the feature: Richard E. Grant.

This reveal isn’t a complete surprise to most fans given the teaser in Apocalypse, but the official confirmation is nice to have. In the comics, it was Apocalypse that brought on the existence of Mister Sinister. And since Mister Sinister’s other name is Nathaniel Essex, it was pretty clear that the villain would be showing up in one of the upcoming movies. He experimented on mutants on a regular basis and messed with his own biology on the quest to find the ideal mutant.

As for who will play the character, there’s been no word.

Given the cast of the film, there are a number of choices for who could be playing the villain in the film, including Boyd Holbrook (possible), Richard E. Grant (likely), or even Stephen Merchant (probably not). However, fans can’t be sure whether Mister Sinister will be the central villain of Wolverine 3 just yet.
