Upstate placed five athletes on the A-Sun All-Academic Team this past season in Cornfield, Sean Hassell, Sebastian Lopez Bulla, Tom Schofield and Trey Taylor.
“A hearty congratulations to all the volleyball coaches whose teams won the AVCA Team Academic Award”, said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. Rose-Hulman joined 140 teams at the NCAA Division III level in earning Academic Team Award status. In doing so, these coaches sent a clear message that classroom success is just as important as volleyball success. The Cardinals were one of three Mid-American Conference programs to earn the award, joining Eastern Michigan and Miami University. Adding this to our first individual NCAA Regional bid in Ryan Cornfield and highest A-Sun Championship finish, makes 2014-15 a special year.
The La Salle golf team posted the highest team GPA of any male squad during the spring, 2014 semester.
In all, more than 175 colleges and universities were recognized this year.
