Men’s Gymnastics Team Literally Begging You to Objectify Them

The U.S. opened its bid to become only the second non-Soviet Union team to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals in Sunday’s qualifying round with one of the most dominant performances in the sport’s history.

Phelps earned yet another gold medal on Sunday after he swam the second leg of the 4×100 freestyle, giving the Americans a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The U.S. posted the highest individual score on each of the four individual apparatus, Biles posting the top mark on the floor exercise, vault and balance beam all by herself.

The 21-year-old swimmer Adam Peaty won gold in 100m breaststroke in 57.13 seconds.

The men’s team all-around final at the Summer Olympics is set for Monday afternoon in Rio de Janeiro, pitting the United States against seven other countries on a quest for a gold medal, with the festivities streamed online at NBC Olympics.

Team USA’s score of 185.238 was almost 10 points ahead of second place China. The third team atop the Olympic medal count standings after day one is China, whose athletes claimed two silver and three bronze medals in shooting, #Swimming, and fencing events.

Wales’ golden girl held on to nab the silver in the swimming pool as the USA’s Katie Ledecky took gold in world-record time.
