Then the drift of downsizing noticed over the German automaker’s series, the SLC43 drops the old 5.5-litre V8 engine in service of a 3.0-litre biturbo V6 engine with an AMG-specific engine control system. The grille gets characteristic diamond pattern treatment and the swept back headlights come with a dual-beam setup and LED Daytime Running Lamps. The side profile continues near unchanged from the SLK while the rear features a new exhaust, new bumper and reprofiled taillamps with LED detailing. 0-100kmph comes up in a claimed 4.7 seconds with the top speed electronically limited to 250kmph. The cabin has undergone a few revisions and features a new steering wheel, larger entertainment system, push button starter and a new gear selector. Additionally, the roof mechanism is now wholly automatic and doesn’t require the manual operation of the luggage cover.
On AMG SLC 43, the company’s 6th launch this year and tenth product under the AMG range in India, Folger said the new product will be a success story.

Mercedes has confirmed the auto will be called the GT Roadster. The main competition to the SLC will be the BMW Z4 roadster and the new Porsche Boxster. Prices for the E 350d and E 43 are to be announced but we expect them to cost from around £39,000 and £58,000, respectively.
