Speaking of the market launch of the new E-Class, the version bound for the United States of America will only be available in two design lines, Sport, and Luxury. C – Class model unseated E – Class was the top seller for 2015 with 90 percent growth, the statement said. It’s teamed with a nine-speed automatic new to the Mercedes lineup.
Mercedes-Benz never ceases to amaze the auto industry as it unveiled the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Along with the technological implant from the S-Class, the new E-Class features a larger interior.
“As the second-best-selling vehicle in the Mercedes lineup, the E-Class is an important vehicle for one of the premiere luxury marques”, Akshay Anand, an analyst at Kelley Blue Book, said in an e-mail.
Much of the technology behind the A8’s piloted driving system made its public debut in the h-tron Quattro concept, including its newly developed video camera, its radar and ultrasonic sensors, and its laser scanner.
As noted by The Verge, it has a remote control assisted parking via a smartphone app, an NFC-based unlock and vehicle start also via the use of smartphone, 84-LED adaptive headlights, “Vehicle-to-Vehicle” and “Vehicle-to-Infrastructure” communication that allows it to send and receive data from cars, buildings and even street lamps nearby.
In the upcoming new E-Class, Mercedes-Benz is introducing the first fully digital instrument cluster with a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels. Dubbed Drive Pilot, this is a semi-autonomous system which once again isn’t a full self-driving vehicle, so if you do have the cash to splash to get the E-Class, maybe go a little easy on the feature.
While other vehicles need more hardware and modifications to be legal for autonomous driving, the E-Class only needs some tweaks here and there without the need for any additional equipment to be up to code.
The really novel thing that Mercedes has going here is a touch-sensitive set of controls on the steering wheel, allowing the driver to control the user interface using swipe motions – and speaking of the UI, it’s redesigned and presented on a 12.3-inch display. The sedan also comes standard with a steel-spring suspension. As far as this auto coming to India is concerned, well Mercedes-Benz will bring it here and probably sooner than we expect. However, it is not an entirely new technological breakthrough of Mercedes as the existing European A-Class already has it.

Mercedes will also offer an E 350 e plug-in hybrid which has a 4-cylinder petrol engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack.
