Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all netted as Barcelona eased to a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad, keeping them in the driving seat at the top of the Primera Division.

The latest display from the Catalan side’s superstar attacking trio showed just how well they dove-tail on the pitch, and comes amid further speculation of behind-the-scenes negotiations about a new deal that would tie reported Manchester United target Neymar to Barca for a further three years until 2021.

“When you see your players enjoying themselves then that is nicer but there are things to improve clearly”, he said.

The result marks the second straight La Liga game in which Barca has scored four goals without conceding.

“When the game starts it’s different”.

Messi who was out for few months following an injury, made his comeback against Real but scored his first goal after his return against Roma when he chipped the ball over the Roma goalie’s head.

“This year you know that we lost players at the end of last season so there are differences with respect to last season”.

Barcelona was unstoppable for the third time in eight days after humbling Real Madrid 4-0 in last weekend’s clasico and obliterating Roma 6-1 in the Champions League. La Real, though, will take confidence from the fact their away form this season has been better than their home form, with two of their three wins coming on the road at Granada and Levante.

Deportivo la Coruna are on their Galician rivals tails in fifth as an early David Simon own goal and Lucas Perez’s ninth league goal of the season handed them a 2-0 win at Las Palmas.

Barcelona’s Luis Suarez, Paris St. Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski are among the other possible contenders for the trophy. We displayed good sensations and [this performance] is the way forward for us.

“If this Barca team go on as they have been, they will draw comparisons with Guardiola’s team”, he said.

Messi is tipped to win the award for a fourth time, but there’s an increasing amount of people who believe the Brazilian deserves second spot ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo – or at very least a place among the top three.

“We have played two games at a very high level, and we are obviously in a good moment”, Enrique said. “I am happy when Suarez and Messi score – and they are when I do it”.

Lionel Messi trained on Friday and is expected to start against Real Sociedad this weekend
