Konami nor Kojima has not said anything yet on these subjects yet. Some gamers have expressed though, that it should have been included in the game.

But don’t take our word for it, watch the Metal Gear Online video below. The plot is extremely complex and hard to summarize, but here’s the most basic synopsis of “The Phantom Pain:” the main character, Snake (aka Big Boss), is the disgraced soldier and leader of the private military force called Diamond Dogs. Instead of a straight linear adventure, this game offers a huge sandbox to play in. Players can tackle these in whichever order they choose, allowing them to control the flow of the game.

In a section interestingly labelled “Tips”, Konami has also alluded to a number of features from the campaign that are making their way into the online mode, including an interrogation function and Buddy support. This is something of a necessary evil given the game’s new structure.

Going into the game, The Phantom Pain is a war designed by Kojima himself. So I was fine concentrating on the gameplay and leaving the story to develop at my leisure. The Infiltrator is a close-up stealth class, great for takedowns and fulton extractions.

You can easily play out missions like a third-person shooter, raining chaos on your enemies via a sniper rifle and rocket launcher.

It’s a testament to the sublime gameplay, however, that you can let that shortcoming go.

If you join a party, you will be able to join the same match as the party members. Unless your in Tokyo, in which case you can take a look yourself, on the TGS floor. Though this is a competitive mode, you will have to work closely with your allies in order to be victorious. It could just be horrible without the right crowd.

Abilities – Equipping abilities enhance performance of your character or your weapons. It will become a point of pride to build your base as strong as possible. There are apparently more actions possible as your camaraderie increases.

Xbox One gamers are still experiencing serious issues that left the game basically unplayable, reports Tech Times. To be clear: The Phantom Pain’s story is good, and it does pick up in its latter stages, and it includes plenty of impressive cutscenes. How about you? Could this be the roaring success Konami hopes it to be?
