In teaming with Prosthetics Designer Sophie De Oliviera Barata along with a pool of engineers and roboticists, Konami will create a “highly stylized and multi-functional limb” for 25-year old James Young.

The man in question is James Young, who lost an arm and a leg when he was dragged along the tracks by a train. The new arm will be visually inspired by Venom Snake’s arm in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. According to Konami, he has learned how to play games one-handed, and was selected by De Oliveira Barata for the project as a candidate who was comfortable with the idea of a stylish prosthetic, and someone who could benefit from its capabilities. Her past designs have included SteamPunk arms and cyborg-inspired legs, and she also designed the crystal leg used by amputee performer Viktoria Modesta during the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympics.
