The Anniversary Update has a mix of features that were promised in Windows 10 but haven’t yet arrived, tweaks and improvements to existing features, and new features that Microsoft announced at the Build conference.

The only difference between this update and the original Windows 10 November Update, according to Microsoft, is the addition of the March cumulative update (KB3140768), which has been inserted into the installation image. Microsoft is also working on a new security service probably not included for free with Windows 10 but as some kind of an upgrade.
Today, Microsoft introduced the preview version of a tool to make that process easier. Windows 10 and Android fit together in some very interesting ways.
You’ll see a message that reads “This will install Ubuntu on Windows, distributed by Canonical and licensed under its terms”.
Use your Microsoft Band 2, or other devices that integrates with the Windows 10 Companion Device Framework (CFD), as companion device for Microsoft Passport based authentication.
While the company will continue releasing the updates for the Windows Phone devices and the Windows 10 Mobile OS, they are likely to no longer produce such devices but only license them like they did in the past. That, in turn, helps convince developers to write apps for Windows 10 and host them on Microsoft’s cloud, too.
Enhancements to Microsoft Passport improve its functionality in enterprise environments.
Developers can also get their apps in front of more users as Windows 10 adoption continues to rise.
Attach their companion device to PC via USB, touch the button on the companion device, and automatically unlock their PC. For a Windows Unlock device to authenticate the user, one of more of these signals must be delivered. Change it to an entertainment, shopping, or browsing center: wirelessly project the web-along with movies, photos, or other supported content on your phone-to any monitor or television.
Additionally, I can confirm that notifications seem to be flowing much better with this update. When paired with a Continuum-compatible phone, it will allow you to use your phone like a laptop. For example, you may be able to login to some websites using the Microsoft Edge browser using your phone rather than by typing a password.

The 12% represented approximately 181 million PCs when compared against the 1.5 billion Windows personal computers worldwide, a number that Microsoft has regularly cited. Some Cortana features will also work from the lock screen, so you don’t have to unlock your PC to set a reminder. Microsoft has been having a nightmarish run in the hardware division, and it is expected that they will soon do away with this carcinogenic division of theirs which is harming them more than benefitting them.
