Mets’ Cespedes, Syndergaard ride horses into camp
Remember when Cespedes showed up to one of the first workouts this spring in something resembling a Batmobile and you thought it would be the biggest oddity of the spring for the defending National League champs?

Last week, the Mets slugger made headlines when he drove gaudy hot-rods, trucks and Lamborghinis to the field in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The following day he took his customized fire-breathing Lamborghini Aventador to the Mets’ complex.
Cespedes can probably afford to buy a horse or two: he signed a $75m contract with the Mets over three years and will earn $21m this year alone.
On Thursday, Cespedes rolled up in a red Alfa Romeo. The Jeep was white and red with seats that looked like a baseball glove.
More specifically though, Cespdes’s horse was named Candy.
Cespedes and Noah Syndergaard rode a pair of horses into camp Tuesday morning as suggested by Syndergaard.
The horse play came after Cespedes bought a prize 270-pound hog at the St. Lucie County Fair over the weekend.
Cespedes has been busy on the animal front in the last week.

The Mets outfielder laid down $7,000, according to the team.
