Mets-Royals tickets, especially at Citi Field, are mighty expensive

The governor, who took a private jet on a Long Island-based charter service with the owners of the Mets to the first game of the World Series Tuesday night in Kansas City, said he was canceling the Friday and Saturday night fundraisers because of an “overwhelming demand for tickets” to the games. You may be better off taking them to Disney World. The same concessions for a family of four would cost about $53. Game 2 will also be hosted by the Royals, before the series moves to New York on Friday.

Royals fans said the same: They are just happy to be able to watch their team play in the World Series.

According to the website, the least expensive ticket for sale is in the standing room only section for $600.

Data collected by TicketNetwork.com show that ticket prices for the games at Citi Field are running higher than those in Kansas City. He sang the national anthem before Game 1 of the 2000 World Series between the Yankees and the Mets, and in 2008 he performed the last concert ever at Shea Stadium.

A recent check of ticket prices on Stubhub shows fans will have to shell out more money if they plan on heading east for the next couple games.

The secondary market prices for the games at Citi Field are close to beating out the most expensive game since SeatGeek began tracking prices in 2010-Game 6 of the 2013 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals, which had average ticket prices of $1,175.
