U.S. basketball and reality TV star Lamar Odom has regained consciousness, speaking and even offering a thumbs-up from his hospital bed, days after being found in a critical condition at a Nevada brothel.

Alvina Alston, a publicist for JaNean Mercer, Odom’s maternal aunt and godmother, said that Odom gave a greeting and thumps up.
In recent days too, the Kardashians refused to stop exploiting Odom on that reality show, seizing on what appeared to be a lost soul in crisis reaching out to his ex-wife and manufacturing his phone calls into Khloe-Kim argument fodder for one more terrible episode.
Neither the Kardashians nor Odom’s representatives have given any official updates on the athlete’s condition since he collapsed on Tuesday at a brothel in Nevada, where authorities said he had used cocaine and so-called herbal Viagra.
Former National Basketball Association star Lamar Odom was conscious and able to say “Hi” to estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, a source with knowledge of the situation said Friday.
“Obviously, our hearts and our thoughts and our prayers are with Lamar and his family”, Scott said.
Celebrity media, citing sources close to the family or at the hospital, have said Odom, 35, is on life support, has suffered a series of strokes and his kidneys and other organs are failing.
Love Ranch spokesman Richard Hunter said Odom had scheduled his brothel visit on Saturday a week in advance and it was his first ever visit.
The manager called 911 and revealed that there was a mucus-like substance coming out from Odom’s nose and mouth.
He was taken to a hospital in Las Vegas, about an hour’s drive from Crystal.
Odom was taken to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where he has been on life-support since his arrival.
The owner of the brothel, Dennis Hof, gets 50%.
The Los Angeles Clippers drafted him in 1999, and he played for the team for four seasons before signing with the Miami Heat. The source added that while he remains in a coma, doctors have said that it could be a “long-term process” for him to wake up, should he emerge from it at all.
CBS’s Ken Berger has interviewed Odom often and is as offended by the reduction to Kardashian accessory as anyone.

Kardashian rushed to his side that night and since then, friends, teammates and loved ones, including his two children, have visited and posted messages on social media asking for prayers.
