“It is important to specify that these injuries were not the product of a direct clash”, it said, without specifying the extent of the injuries.
In a statement, the Mexican government said it had worked with global agencies to capture Guzman, and that in recent weeks, efforts had been focused on the northwest of the country, not far from Guzman’s native turf of Sinaloa state.
The governor of Sinaloa said Wednesday that special forces had conducted raids in Tamazula, Durango.
US Drug Enforcement Administration officials said they believed Guzman fled to the rugged mountain region of his home state stronghold of Sinaloa following his jailbreak.
Besides brutal killings and the shipment of huge quantities of narcotics to the United States by his organisation, the leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel is notorious for breaking out of a maximum-security Mexican prison not once but twice.
While Guzman has been the topic of many regional songs in Mexico in the United States this is the second hip hop song that features the moustachoued capo. The Marines later entered the camp on foot and discovered cell phones, medication and two-way radios, but Guzman and his accomplices are believed to have fled on ATVs. However each one week & a half after the raid, officers are losing hope in that Guzman’s capture is imminent.
