Investigators said they would be reviewing security footage along the busy boulevard where the abductions occurred.
“The possibility exists”, Jalisco state prosecutor Eduardo Almaguer told Radio Formula.

The chief prosecutor said only fake identity documents had been found at the scene of Monday’s kidnapping, in a posh restaurant called La Leche in the Pacific coast city’s chic hotel district.

Mexico City-based security analyst Alejandro Hope said that without knowing who was taken, it was impossible to say what the fallout could be.
“The subjects enter, control the diners, separate the women to a side and violently take them (the men)”, he said in an interview with The Associated Press prior to the news conference. They said he had the reputation of a braggart, showing off expensive liquor, clothes, guns and cars on social media, something that could have angered more traditional traffickers who keep a lower profile.
Jalisco Gov. Aristoteles Sandoval said through his official Twitter account that such violence would not be tolerated and a search was underway for the victims and the kidnappers.
