At 60, Brown is one of the older coordinators in the country and has spent most of his career in the Northeast, a coordinator at MA and Brown in the 1990s and the past seven years at Maryland, Connecticut and BC since 2013.

Under Brown, Boston College allowed an average of 254 yards per game in 2015. The Eagles allowed 15.3 points per game on offense. “I said it many times, I think Don Brown is if not the best, then one of the very best defensive coordinators in all of college football'”. Brown also enjoyed a great deal of autonomy from BC coach Steve Addazio in running the Eagles defense. The Wolverines ranked #4 in total defense last season, right alongside BC for much of the season until they lost to Ohio State, 42-13, in the season’s final week.
