“I thought we had a lack of execution, a lack of effort, and toughness out there early”.

-Coley, who posted his second career 100-yard receiving game last time out vs. Virginia, ranks first in the ACC with an average of 95.0 yards per conference game. Temple rallied with the Tar Heels throughout the first half, but UNC went on a 13-2 run going into intermission.

Point guard Sterling Gibbs scored 20 points in his CT debut and center Amida Brimah dominated at both ends of the floor with 18 points and nine blocked shots as UConn opened with an easy win.

Williams fussed at his guys during halftime. But with the game so far gone, the sophomore helped run out the last five minutes of the clock on the team’s final possession.

But many of those numbers came after Coach Williams laid into his team at the break-something Pinson’s fellow sophomore, Justin Jackson, described to the media. “But if we play hard, the crowd will get behind us”.

“Obviously, we’re at the University of Miami. We just need a few time and a couple of more bodies”. UNC pulled ahead 8-3 early on, but Pitt quickly cut the Tar Heels’ five point lead to two.

He has made the most of an expanded opportunity in the absence of Marcus Paige, the senior point guard who’s not playing while recovering from a broken bone in his hand. He shoots with his left hand. The injury occurred during practice.

Another freshman, Trey Lowe, had eight points and two assists, though he did miss a wide-open layup in the second half; the 6-6 wing did recover to knock down a corner trey on Temple’s next possession. With a second to go before the intermission he found Howard for a 49-yard TD pass. It was UNC’s day. Britt on Sunday led UNC with 17 points, which tied his career high, and he thrived on Sunday after scoring 15 points during the Tar Heels’ season-opening 91-67 victory against Temple Friday.

“Our 3-pointer is working real well”. OK teams have a 50/50 chance of beating other OK teams. He had 25 points. This was the first time that Temple ever played a No. 1-ranked team in a season opener. “The entire game, we just tried to keep getting the ball in the paint”.

The Badgers looked like a different team offensively after hitting less than 36 percent of their shots from the field and 64 percent from the free throw line and allowing Western IL to shoot 54 percent from the field in Friday night’s loss.

But Gilbert was a handful, no question, the coach said.

Looking at Miami’s total yardage – 425 yards and 25 first downs – you’d think the offensive line played better than what the grade says.

“In the first half, I felt that we came out strong and we competed”, senior guard Quenton DeCosey, who finished with 11 points, said. So that was good, Williams said. The 6-foot-9 Enechionyia watched the game from Temple’s bench dressed in full uniform and with his right foot in a protective walking boot. His comments afterward suggested that had nothing to do with summer surgery to each of his knees.
