Miami dodges a bullet here as wideouts Johnny Holton, Chris Moore and Mekale McKay are all suffering from various bumps and bruises; helping negate the early losses of Bush and Carter.

Duke Johnson led the charge on the ground, carrying 10 times for 162 yards and a score, but Joe Yearby wasn’t far behind with eight carries for 113 yards. He had one touchdown catch, six receptions and 100 yards.

As for the Huskies, they rush for only 108.3 yards per game, so BYU should be able to keep the Huskies offense in check. Moeller HS graduate Alex Gall starts at left guard. Berrios is QB Brad Kaaya’s best friend. Although Kaaya has had no trouble finding the end zone, since arriving in Coral Gables the California native has thrown a touchdown pass in all 16 games he’s played.

The uniforms, designed by the Hurricanes’ new apparel outfitter Adidas, featured silver lettering on the jerseys and trousers, along with orange numbers. He has been intercepted only four times in his last 303 attempts.

Friday night many Bruin fans will be watching BYU in action again as they try to comeback from that awful loss last week against Michigan. Miami kicker Michael Badgley is 9-for-10 on field goals. Watch for UM returner Corn Elder, who has a punt return for a TD this year.

Moore will no-doubt be a hot topic to be dissected by the ESPN announcers after he passed for a school-record 557 yards last week against the Tigers, a performance that Tuberville was still marveling over this week.

Miami certainly needs a more consistent effort after almost blowing a 23-point fourth-quarter lead last time out against Nebraska. But the UC coach also made it a point not to ticket Moore for the Hall of Fame too soon.

Figuring this will be another high-scoring affair, UC must convert when it has the chance. The cynic in me thinks that Cincinnati’s season is teetering on implosion and that we’re a couple bad plays away from rolling over; if that is the case then Miami will crush us by the tune of 42-13. The Hurricanes, despite fading from the national perspective in recent years, still fields a roster loaded with talent which will challenge the Bearcats on both sides of the ball, especially if much-maligned head coach Al Golden can get the talented Hurricanes on the same page.

Miami has a plus-eight turnover margin, which is the second-best in the NCAA.
