The TomTom Traffic Index detected that that Portland, Chicago and Washington D.C. all had an overall congestion level of 26 per cent a year ago.

Kansas City congestion adds only 50 hours a year to commutes or 13 minutes a day, compared with 164 hours a year or 43 minutes a day for No. 1 gridlocked Los Angeles.
