Michael B. Jordan ready for a Creed Sequel
Thanksgiving box office hit “Creed” has rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike, and star Michael B. Jordan is eager to get to work on the next chapter of the “Rocky” spin-off.

Jordan knows a new generation of Rocky fans will want to see more of his character, Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky fighter (and nemesis) Apollo Creed.
For its first week, “Creed” earned around $30.1 million for its first three days out in theaters, and a whopping $42.6 million on its fifth day on screens. Nevertheless, I’d be remiss if I didn’t take my opportunity this weekend to say it to you myself: go see Creed.
Director Ryan Coogler also shared that he’d be excited to do a sequel. Especially the way it ends off, it’s pretty cool.
It’d be great to see Coogler take on another original project after this, but maybe, like Jordan says, if the time and circumstances allow it, we’d love to see Coogler and Jordan return for another round with Creed. Coolger also directed 2013’s “Fruitvale Station”, in which Jordan starred.
Creed is the latest instalment in the Rocky Balboa saga.
And the 69-year-old film icon is once again sparking Oscar buzz for his performance as Rocky. He believes that when they work together they actually push each other to do and be better.
Add to that some of the most well-choreographed boxing ever captured on film, so smooth it tells a story in itself, and Creed has all the ingredients for not only a great Rocky sequel but one of the best boxing movies of recent time. The boxer put his gloves down after his final fight in 2006’s “Rocky Balboa”, and “Creed” gives birth to a new fighter, Adonis Creed, the son of Balboa’s friend and former rival Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), who audiences everywhere can cheer for.

Creed, which came in at No. 3, cost US$35 million to make, with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer overseeing production and Warner Bros taking the lead in marketing and distribution.
