Michael B. Jordan to Star in ‘Thomas Crown Affair’ Remake at MGM

The original Thomas Crown Affair, directed by Norman Jewison, was released in 1968. In fact, Jordan is the only name now attached to the project, with MGM just starting to look for writers and filmmakers to put the film together.

Jordan is reteaming with MGM to remake “The Thomas Crown Affair”, TheWrap has learned. Yet the call is out and MGM brass, very happy with how things turned out with Creed, is intent on developing a vehicle around the actor. Faye Dunaway played insurance investigator Vicki Anderson, who is hired to track down the mastermind behind the robbery only to end up having an affair with the criminal. The movie was also remade in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. That version ended with a happily-ever-after, while the original saw the two characters parting ways. The film was a solid hit, grossing $124 million worldwide. The endings, however, were quite different, and with Jordan attached to this second remake, the story may take yet another direction.
