Michael Bisping stuns Luke Rockhold to win middleweight title at UFC 199

Cruz repeatedly tagged Faber with left hands while largely staying out of range for Faber, who grew frustrated with his inability to engage the champion in the final four rounds.

Luke Skyler Rockhold, American mixed martial artist who trashed down the undefeated Chris Weidman previous year is all set to take up a battle with Michael Bisping at UFC 199.

Although Rockhold (15-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) is ready to fight, Bisping (28-7 MMA, 18-7 UFC) is surely not sparing his knee. “I thought I lost this at one point”. The Brit withered beneath Rockhold’s flinty stare back in 2014, but he’ll get his second chance at victory in the City of Angeles.

Bisping said after the fight: “Listen, I’ve got to be humble, even though I want to be an arsehole”.

“I can’t really say that right now”, Faber said when pressed about calling it a career.

“I’ve been a fighter since I came out of my mother”. I have always been a fighter.

In the co-feature bout, UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (22-1) of San Diego got the best of longtime rival Urijah Faber (33-10) of Sacramento, and claimed victory in their trilogy fight. This is my dream. Bisping had just 17 days notice for this fight.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Bisping lives and trains in Southern California with boxing coach Jason Parillo. That, however, ended up favoring Bisping when he found the opening that won him the fight. Now he moves into a tie for first with former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. Rockhold continued to try and walk down Bisping, who would find ways to escape along the back side. Check this out. First-round knockout.

UFC has a new middleweight champion and many fight fans had their votes against him.

“Congrats to Michael, he caught me”, Rockhold said. “He’s stated in a lot of interviews is that I’m no different than I used to be, he doesn’t see a lot of differences”. Obviously I didn’t respect him enough. “He’s a tough guy”. “I gave him an opportunity, and he made the most of it. Give me an opportunity, and it will be the end of it. I think I’ve earned mine, but I will do what I have to do, but it will be a short-lived destiny”.

Bisping was particularly proud of winning the belt with a knockout, which came at 3:36 of the first round. Bisping cleaned up what was left with follow-up punches. Rockhold landed a straight left and Bisping tried to counter with a right, but failed to connect.
