Mourinho has been busy coaching his squad, while also working hard to bring in new players.

“I’m very happy, the result obviously is not the most important thing but it is always important”, he told MUTV.

Carrick has entered pre-season under his fourth different manager at Old Trafford, having gone through season preparations with Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly all signed, and rumours of a £100m move for Paul Pogba doing the rounds, it seems likely that a few of Man United’s big name players will have to be shifted on to clear space and funds.

United will depart for China next week where they will meet Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup.

Memphis Depay looks to be in good spirits after getting his first taste of life at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.

“So if this is like this in a friendly match, what I said in my presentation, if they wait for something from me I will try to give them everything and I’m sure they will give wonderful support to the team”.

“We scored a goal in the last minute at Old Trafford and made history for myself and my country”.

“I could see them there, but not in a ideal way because conditions is not the best…10 days of training sessions, accumulation of fatigue, no sharpness”. There’s been a lot of football and fun at the right times, and I think everyone’s enjoying it.
