To his credit, Michael Douglas has never been shy about his child’s troubled. The specifics of his release were not immediately available Monday. According to People, the younger Douglas was recently released from prison. He was accused of helping distribute “multiple pounds” of methamphetamine, according to a federal complaint obtained by the website. “When he was sentenced, I knew the amount of time he was going to be spending in federal prison combined with my early cancer at the same time”. He told the court he’d been dealing regularly since 2006. He is also the grandson of Kirk Douglas.
Michael Douglas’ son Cameron Douglas has been released from jail. In 2011 he pleaded guilty to possessing drugs while in jail and was sentenced to an additional four and a half years.
He was put in solitary confinement in January 2013 after testing positive for drugs, the New York Post reported.
Michael previously slammed the “system” for putting his drug addict son in solitary confinement. “I see him twice a month now because he’s incarcerated closer to our home”. It’s been over a year now, and I’m questioning the system. “At first, I was certainly disappointed with my son, but I’ve reached a point now where I’m disappointed with the system”, the Oscar-winning actor said at the time.
In the honest piece, he confessed to making many mistakes… and also called for prison reforms for nonviolent offenders.

The actor went on to question the way in which non-violent drug abusers are punished under the current prison system. “The United States represents 5% of the world’s population and 25% of the world’s prisoners”.
