Marion’s confession came before she had to pull out of the film’s premiere in Edinburgh, Scotland on Sunday (27Sep15) due to illness.
“When you look at something like Macbeth and what Michael did, I don’t think I have the discipline”.
However a spokesperson from the film office said: “Marion is under strict doctors orders not to attend”.
“But her absence today is to do with her working really hard”. She’s just recovering in bed. I thought, ‘Ah, OK.
It was previously revealed Cotillard suffered for her art on the set of MACbeth as she fell into a bog while filming in Scotland.
Kurzel – directing his first film with an all-star cast – said: “She went in up to her neck”.
Michael Fassbender takes the lead alongside Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth in the production, which was partly shot on location on the Isle of Skye, much to the delight of Fassbender.
He stopped to talk to fans, sign autographs and pose for selfies as he made his way to the screening at the Scottish capital’s Festival Theatre. “I love the city, its architecture and the really great people”. “It was cold and it was wet, surprise, surprise, but Skye is one of the most lovely places I’ve ever seen”.

It WAS all hail Macbeth – not to mention sleet, snow and rain – for the stars filming in Scotland a visceral new silver screen version of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy last winter. “A couple of thing happened a long the way so who knows and it was called the Scottish play on the call sheet after a while so maybe a few superstitions did creep in”. I’m glad to be here – I’ve not been up for six years and I always love being here.
