Michael Jordan records tribute to Kobe for Lakers-Hornets intros
In all the rivalry glory that came forth from Los Angeles and Boston, Kobe Bryant helped bring it to new heights when the Celtics and Lakers clashed twice in the NBA Finals just a few years back.

Instead of playing highlights from Kobe’s career, the Time Warner Cable Arena aired a video message from Michael Jordan, the team’s owner who wasn’t in town for the game.
And perhaps no stop means as much – or carries as much personal history for Bryant and for his team – as Wednesday’s: He will play his final game in Boston against the archrival Celtics, a team Bryant faced twice in the NBA Finals – losing in 2008, then winning in 2010.
Jordan went on to say he saw Bryant’s “competitive drive” the first time the two played against each other in 1996 and called it “invigorating”.
“I have nothing but great respect for (Bryant) and their whole organization”, Stevens said. “I’ve always been like a big brother and you like a little brother”.
Kobe Bryant’s favorite color might be green, but the Black Mamba reiterated he bleeds purple and gold following their loss to the Charlotte Hornets.
“That connects us with you”, he said. “You can have one, but I’m not hearing it”.
“I don’t want to make it seem like I’m fully responsible”, World Peace said.
“Here is a little different because this is the city that drafted me”, he said.
Bryant added, “We talk fairly often”. I was sitting next to Julius Randle before the game.
The reduced minutes gives Bryant a chance at meeting his goal as he didn’t play in the fourth quarter with the game out of hand.
Back in July 2014, Bryant also “thanked” the Hornets for trading him to the Lakers, where he went on to be a multi-titled superstar.
Charlotte shot 48.3% (43-89) from the field and 24% (6-25) from three.
Bass’s role has been reduced with the Lakers, who are in the awkward position of honoring Bryant as he takes his final bow while also trying to develop their young core.
The Lakers overcame a 13-point deficit in various ways. Al Jefferson continued to struggle in only his second game back with the team.
“If I lost that championship, I’d be miserable”, Bryant said. “He’s put in 20 hard years and he’s given everything he’s got every single night”. “I think for the sake of what he did for the past, present and future, I think it would be nice to see a good standing ovation”.
“We were up four and he said, ‘I’m good, ‘” Clifford said.
The Los Angeles Clippers managed to win the first game without star forward Blake Griffin and will need to carry that formula over for at least a couple of weeks.
Playing overseas and finishing his career outside of the National Basketball Association is something that Kobe Bryant once embraced and thought was a possibility.
