Michael Jordan told Klay Thompson to break Bulls’ 72-win record
“My personal view, as I said last week, is beginning to change”. He knew it was over. “That’s right in his wheelhouse”.

Thompson and Curry – two major players for the Warriors – entered the contest as favourites, and they lived up to the expectations, sending a sell-out crowd at Air Canada Centre into a frenzy.
It’s not often that Steph Curry loses out, but he failed to defend his Three-Point Contest crown at the NBA All-Star Weekend, with his Golden State Warriors teammate Klay Thompson taking the honours.
Thompson definitely wanted this title. Golden State could reach 50 wins – for many clubs, the mark of a very good regular season – with a victory on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers in what’s become perhaps the league’s testiest rivalry. And having done it once before, losing to Curry in the final round a year ago, he didn’t have the nerves anymore.
Messina, the legendary Italian coach compared Porzingis to former Bull Toni Kukoc, and said one area he would like to see him improve is being able to “do more things off the dribble”. “Thanks to Klay for knocking me off my perch”. “If we could … switch off every year, it’d be nice”. Contenders will try to load up and disappointments can break up. “Back-to-back years for Splash Brothers, it’s pretty cool”. All-Stars Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins square off in the first round and the victor would meet All-Star Draymond Green or No. 1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns, who believes he can get by the bigs and then knock off one of the little guys who usually make up the event’s entire field. “It was a decent round….” Suns rookie Devin Booker (16) was third.
Toronto’s Kyle Lowry (15) did not advance.
For now, it’s time to turn the attention at All-Star weekend back where it started: Kobe Bryant and the rest of the NBA’s best. His 21 was second to Thompson’s 22.
The All-Star game is set for Sunday. Warriors player development consultant Steve Nash told Thompson that his textbook shooting form affords him time to work on other parts of his game. “So I think that was my goal, and I did it”.
Toronto got soaked by the #SplashBrothers in the 2016 3-Point Contest. He seemed to have a ball sitting courtside with his colleagues.
” Minnesota’s Zach LaVine defeated Aaron Gordon in a dunk-off to win the Slam Dunk Contest for the second straight year”.
LaVine decided matters with a flying between-the-legs one-handed dunk with a takeoff just inside the free-throw line. His way of saying it was over.

Despite the fact that Curry may have been the biggest team leader, the Warriors may not have been able to be their position without Thompson. They are the hands down favorite to walk into the Finals and raise the championship trophy without much adversity along the way if they can keep up their level of play. I don’t care what words may have come out of his mouth, but there is no way that this pathological competitor would be fine with one of his legendary achievements being topped.
