Michael Jordan welcomes Michigan as first ever Jordan Brand football client
These days, Michael Jordan is earning up to $100 million a year alone in Jordan Brand royalties and guys like Charles Barkley, Penny Hardaway, and more retired National Basketball Association guys are still cashing in on re-issues.

CHICAGO – Air Jordan I’s hit retail stores in Chicago at $65 a pair in March 1985.
The latest name might ring a bell too: Michael Jordan.
The brand has opened Flight 23 stores in New York and Las Vegas, both of which were launched via a partnership with Footaction, but the upcoming store in downtown Chicago will not be co-branded, reports ESPN. Michigan football will be the first college football program to wear the signature Jumpman logo on the football field starting in 2016. It will be all Jordan.
For those that might not be as informed as our younger audiences, the Jordan brand is a global phenomenon. A space above the store can be used for Jordan-sponsored athletes or as a promotional space.
Jordan really did nearly create this industry by himself because his stardom was so bright and bigger than life. Today, you see the brand across sports other than basketball at all levels of competition.
One sort of has to wonder why North Carolina was not chosen as the first school to debut the Jordan brand for football, instead of Michigan.
Jordan accomplished all four, including selling $70 million in Air Jordan I’s in the first three months.
