Michael Keaton Back in Talks for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

You can read the full synopsis thanks to Reddit poster kiekan, but from what we can tell, Peter Parker is a precocious though awkward high school senior who has the hots for Liz Allen and a developing side job as vigilante/freelance photographer who takes photos of his own crime scenes, causing him to be late and struggle to keep up with his homework. Additionally, JoBlo says that The Vulture in fact will be the main villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, as opposed to a secondary villain who only appears, say, in an opening battle scene. According to their sources, he’ll be aided in his villainous efforts by The Tinkerer, who helps Vulture build his suit. Per JoBlo, in a savvy piece of MCU connective tissue, Vulture’s suit will be constructed from recovered Chitauri technology from the Battle of NY in The Avengers. It is now unknown which villain from Spidey’s roster of bad guys Keaton will play. We have no idea what made Keaton change his mind, but potentially having such a big name to any cast is always good. His sole nomination came for his role in 2014’s “Birdman” in the Best Actor category.

Keaton is coming off an incredibly successful two-year stretch. Regardless, it looks like something is being worked out as Variety reports that Michael Keaton is back in the mix to play a leading role.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be filming in June, with a release date set for July 7, 2017.

If Keaton does sign on to play The Vulture, he’ll join a talented cast that includes Downey, Holland, Marissa Tomei (Aunt May) and Zendaya Coleman.

Homecoming is a joint production between Sony and Marvel Studios, the third cinematic iteration of Peter Parker/Spider-man, but the first to tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
