United States star Katie Ledecky bagged her second gold medal of the Olympic Games after powering to victory in the women’s 200m freestyle. He was edged out of a gold in the same race during the 2012 Olympics. Le Clos previously beat Phelps in the same match at the London Games in 2012.
Michael Phelps continues to make history in Rio.
“Mission accomplished”, he said after claiming the 20th Olympic gold of his career.
Also in action Tuesday will be Ryan Lochte, swimming his first Rio race as part of the US men’s 4x200m freestyle relay team, and Maya DiRado, who claimed silver in the women’s 400m individual medley on Saturday and has a chance to add a second medal in Tuesday’s 200m IM final.
Japan’s Masato Sakai ran second in the butterfly to collect the silver; Hungary’s Tamas Kenderesi won bronze. At this year’s competition, le Clos came in fourth.
Phelps, left, added to his medal haul Tuesday night with a gold in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay. His relay teammates were Townley Haas, Ryan Lochte and Conor Dwyer.
For those that want to watch the medal events on Tuesday night, it can be seen on NBC at 9:00 p.m. ET and watched online via a live stream via NBC Olympics.

Biles, Raisman and Douglas finished first, second and third, respectively, in qualifying, setting up a daunting task for any other nation to challenge the USA and making the show they put on a must-see event. “That’s why I swim the 200 freestyle, both the IMs”.
