While Phelps having a whopping number of 22 Golds is looking for another medal before the swimming tournament ends, Schooling beat his hero in the 100-meter butterfly at the Games on Friday.

Phelps won the USA’s second gold of the night in the pool, after Ryan Murphy completed a sweep of the men’s backstroke events, winning the 200m.
Had Phelps won, it would’ve been his fourth consecutive gold medal in the event, and his fifth in Rio.
CBC commentator Elliotte Friedman called the entire 200 metre individual medley thinking Phelps was countryman Ryan Lochte and that Lochte was Phelps.
“I’ve always said don’t judge me when I’m running like a lion, judge me when my back’s against the wall”. He loves that excitement, loves that challenge on the block against seven swimmers.
“I’m going to need some time off, just a break mentally and physically and who knows – I might be back”.
“I am just happy to be able to finish the way I wanted to. United States of America needs this. He’s been the backbone”.
Even though Phelps was disappointed, he couldn’t stop praising the young boy. I saw that today and I thought, ‘Oh, thanks Ryan!

Here are the five biggest events you need to keep your eye on Thursday at the Rio Olympics. But during a press conference last week, Phelps left open the possibility of competing after Rio. “I am exhausted. Some of my friends have sent some inspirational text messages that have helped”, Phelps said.

“The history him and I have had with one another is something special and something I’ve never had with another competitor of mine”, Lochte said of Phelps after the semifinal.
