Michael Phelps Wins His 21st Olympic Gold Medal!
He defeated the field with a time of 1 minute, 53.36 seconds. Yeah, despite all that build up and ridiculous warm up routine, le Clos ended up coming in fourth.

If Chad le Clos was trying to get into Michael Phelps’ head on Monday night, it didn’t work.
Winning the 200m marked the swimmer’s 20th gold and after the big win, the athlete celebrated in the water by wagging his finger (above) and raising his arms – which Twitter LOVED! But then, as soon as the crowd started singing, he absolutely lost it.
Michael Phelps has claimed the 21st gold medal of his career, anchoring the United States to a dominating victory in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay. “20!” and it didn’t take long for the 31-year-old to go celebrate with his baby boy Boomer! “I just did a time that he hasn’t done in four years, so he can keep quiet now”. “This is the race I really wanted back”, Phelps said. I don’t want to say revenge, but that’s kind of what it was.
The 31-year-old, who has hit the headlines for troubles in his personal life over the last few years, added another gold medal to his collection later the same night as the U.S. clinched victory in the 4x200m freestyle.
The heats for the 200-meter individual medley are part of the afternoon session, which begins at noon ET, and the semifinals will be held during the night session starting at 9 p.m. ET.
Friday: 100-meter butterfly finals, 6:12 p.m.

While it was a good night in the swimming for team GB, with two silver medals added to the haul, the night belonged to Phelps.
