DC’s big-screen adaptation of “The Flash” may still be a few years off, but it looks like the publisher may have already found the film’s director: Seth Grahame-Smith.

The Flash is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2018. It has to be that really, because when you break it down from a sensible outside view, it sounds suspiciously like an April Fool’s Day story…

Given the spoofy, tongue-in-cheek, nearly irreverent tone of his two books, it’ll be interesting to see what direction Grahame-Smith takes this project. Thus far, his experience behind the camera has been limited to the MTV series The Hard Time of RJ Berger.

The fastest man alive is one step closer to getting a writer and director for the big screen. He’s additionally tapped to be writing the Lego Batman film in addition to Beetlejuice 2. If Marvel is planning to dip into their TV series, Warner Bros. shouldn’t leave money on the table. Having served as a screenwriter on the likes of Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the film will mark Grahame-Smith’s first outing as a feature film director.
